What is Boswellia serrata?

Before we move on to explore the benefits of Boswellia serrata, a brief description is called for. Analysis of its composition has revealed powerful active principles including monoterpenes, diterpenes, triterpenes, tetracyclic triterpene acids and pentacyclic triterpene acids. Referred to by scientists as boswellic acids, these compounds all share powerful anti-inflammatory effects which explain boswellia’s properties and benefits.
